Food unites us all. Spread the love by sharing a Pangaea's Box of produce with refugee families. Give a box once, or subscribe and give for 28 weeks.
The Pangaea box celebrates the foods that bring our global cultures together. Each box will be comprised of produce enjoyed by most cultures from across the world. An average of 6 six items per box, with enough of each item to feed 4-6 people.
Love Thy Neighbor - donated box for a refugee family
Items will include some combination of onions, garlic, potatoes, carrots, cabbage, cooking greens, peppers, tomatoes, squash, beans, okra, eggplant, cucumber, radish, citrus, and herbs.
Most of the items will come from Brady Farm and other local farms (including organic and conventional), as well as non-local items in order to include out-of-season produce, e.g. potatoes in June.
Refugee and Immigrant Self-Empowerment (RISE) has been working to support refugees and immigrants in a wide variety of ways for 18 years. RISE provides resettlement assistance, social support, training for new farmers, youth programs, and other services to help individuals and families create a full life in Syracuse.
The Resettlement Coordinator and Case Manager from RISE will identify families who want and are in need of fresh veggies. We'll bring the boxes directly to the families. RISE supports people from all over the world, and we're excited to welcome any and all of our new neighbors to Syracuse and the Brady Farm. Other refugee families in the community who are not affiliated with RISE may also receive boxes
